by Mary Jane Hansen
Cicilia dreams about being as strong and brave as Pippi Longstocking. Pippi stands courageously for fairness, justice and the joy of youth, and is unequivocally the strongest girl in the world. But where did she come from? There are plenty of stories about her father, the pirate. However, not much has ever been said about her mother… until one day when Cicilia pretends to be Pippi, she receives a mysterious letter. How wonderful it would be to have a mother like the famous humanitarian and writer of classic children’s literature, Astrid Lindgren.
On Cicilia’s search for the author, she needs some help with clues, often stops to have a little fun, and once or twice has to save the day. Each step brings her closer to Pippi Longstocking and the woman who created that wonderful superhero/ordinary girl.
